Egrets, I've Had A Few

I spent 5 full days in the swamps of Texas and Louisiana, documenting some of the most unique, and ethereal forests I’ve ever seen in my life. Each day I would see egrets flying around, always behind a tree, or in the shade, or directly overhead. I spent the entire week dreaming of a shot like this, downright fantasizing about how beautiful it would be to catch one in the beautiful golden morning light, flying through the gentle mist rising off the water. On my very last morning in the swamps all my dreams came true, everything lined up, and I was ready to capture a shot I had envisioned for days prior.

My standards for myself as an artist are almost impossibly high. I take many photos I like every year, but very few are shots I am TRULY proud of. This is one of those. A true portfolio shot, one that will be on my website for decades to come because I genuinely think it’s the pinnacle of my abilities as a photographer. I am thrilled to be able to offer this as a print, and I cannot wait to see it hanging in your home. ??
